| Tagging Instructions - Children's Sale |
Shoppers are looking for the very best bargains! We encourage you to price your items to sell! You will sell more and have fewer items to pick-up after the sale!
|
The Clothesline Boutique! We have many customers who love boutique brand children's clothing. To make these items easy to find, tie a piece of 1/4 inch blue curling ribbon to the top of the hanger. Your boutique items will be easily identified while hanging in the appropriate size. For a list of boutique brands click HERE.
The Clothesline Reloaded! Thursday March 8 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. we will accept additional tagged merchandise from consignors. These items will be available for sale when we open Friday morning. It's a whole new sale! Click HERE for details.
|
**PLEASE READ** Add a stripe to your tag! In order to help us sort your items for you, please do the following. On items you are NOT DONATING, please put a narrow stripe of your designated color on the bottom of the tag.
Color designation is based on your consignor number: (for example, Jane Smith with consignor # JS1234 would use pink) A-D and #s only: Yellow E-H: Blue I-N: Pink O-S: Green T-Z: Orange
Do NOT use a color other than your assigned color. It would be better to not stripe at all than to use the wrong color in this situation!
If you are donating the item, you do not need to stripe the tag.
If you have any questions please let me know.

Thank you for the items you donate! All items marked "Donate: Yes" become property of The Clothesline at the close of the sale. Local charities, including Pass It On, Goodwill, Seeds of Promise, Children's Museum of Richmond, churches, and other organizations benefit from your generosity.
**Consignors who donate all of their unsold items will have their consignor fee reduced by half!** Items must all be tagged "Donate: Yes." The consignor must notify The Clothesline prior to the start of the sale. This incentive is not valid for consignors who decide to donate items after the start of the sale.
Again this sale, we will hold a Volunteer Appreciation Sale for volunteers only. Volunteers will be able to purchase up to 10 items marked "Donate: Yes" for 75% off.

Important Tagging Information ...... Please read carefully! Supplies: * Cardstock paper (please use white) * Cable ties, string, or ribbon * Safety pins (NO stick pins) * Ziploc bags * Clear packing tape * Masking tape or painter's tape * Hangers (these will not be returned to you) * Highlighter or marker in your designated color to stripe your tag (see above) We suggest you read through the instructions before gathering your supplies as you may not need everything listed. For example if all of your items are on hangers, you won't need ziploc bags.
Cable ties can be found in the electrical section of Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowes and sometimes at the Dollar Store. Most dry cleaners give away wire hangers. Sometimes Old Navy or Family Dollar will give a few hangers to customers. Cardstock can be bought by the ream at office supply stores or by the sheet at FedEx Kinkos. Please use white cardstock.
You decide what to price your items. Please price items in increments of $0.50 (for example, $3.00 or $3.50, not $3.10 or $3.25). You will sell more items if you price to sell! Please double check all tags for accuracy. We will not be responsible for mistagged or mispriced tags, incomplete tags, or items without tags.
|
Please print on white cardstock (if you already have another color, you may use that before you purchase white). The tags will print 8 to a page.
When printing your tags using the computerized tagging system, print using "Normal" or "Draft" quality. (Avoid "best" quality because the barcode tends to bleed).
Punch a hole in the top of the tag and use a cable tie, string, or ribbon to attach it through the garment's sewn-in label, a button-hole, or belt loop. Or you may use a safety pin to attach the tag to the right side of the item (as it faces you on the hanger).
|
Bring your clothing on plastic or wire hangers. Clothes should be hung with the hanger hook facing the left as you look at it (like a question mark). Attach two-piece outfits together with safety pins (NO straight pins please) or pin the second item to the hanger. This reduces the risk of losing an item. Please use pant hangers or attach pants using safety pins. Do not fold the pants over the hanger; this takes too much room, they fall off, and most shoppers will not take the time to look at them.
All children's clothing (including juniors) should have a number size on the tag (ex: 6, 14, etc..) NOT small, medium, large. If the garment does not specify, make your best guess. Clothing is hung by a number size, so please tag it that way.
Maternity wear may be tagged extra small, small, medium, large, and extra large.
|
For items that will have a price tag attached with tape (such as the items below), please use masking or painter's tape. Packing tape can damage items. Attach the tag by taping across the blank part of the tag. The tags will be removed at check-out. Please do not tape over the barcode.
Furniture and equipment sells best when it is assembled. Please bring any tools required if you would like to assemble your item. If not, tape a baggie containing any hardware or pieces and the instructions to the item.
Puzzles, games, or boxed toys must be taped shut with masking or painter's tape so that pieces are not lost during the sale. Please be sure to count all pieces and make sure all essential parts are there. Do not bring items that do not have all pieces. Batteries must be working in all toys requiring them.
Videos, DVDS, CDs, tapes, computer software, electronic games, etc. should be in their original cases if possible. No home-made recordings please. Group small items together in a ziploc bag and seal it with clear packing tape. For example, fill a bag with same-sized socks or with hair bows.
Shoes may be attached to one another with string, ribbon, cable ties, or large safety pins. You may also put them in a large ziploc bag or keep them in their shoebox.
